Muay Thai classes in Harlingen, TX
Muay Thai, often called Thai boxing, is the art of eight limbs: a stand-up striking art built on punches, kicks, elbows and knees, plus the clinch. Adult classes run every weekday evening and Saturday morning, and kids Muay Thai runs weekday afternoons and Saturday mornings.
The art of eight limbs
Eight weapons, not two.
Boxing gives you two fists. Muay Thai adds elbows, knees and shins, plus a clinch game to connect them. That’s where the name “art of eight limbs” comes from.
Fists
Jabs, crosses, hooks and uppercuts: the same punches as boxing.
Elbows
Short, sharp strikes at close range, often thrown from the clinch.
Knees
Driven to the body and legs, on the way in or from the clinch.
Shins
Muay Thai’s signature roundhouse kicks land with the shin, to the legs, body and head.
Plus the clinch.Stand-up grappling, where you control your opponent’s posture and land knees and elbows up close.
