Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu classes in Harlingen, TX
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is a grappling art: you learn to take someone down, control them on the ground and finish with submissions like chokes and joint locks, using leverage and timing instead of size and strength. At Peck, adult BJJ runs at lunchtime and in the evening, and alternates between Gi and No-Gi through the week.
Gi & No-Gi
Both styles, every week.
The adult and kids schedules both alternate: Gi on Mon, Wed, Fri, No-Gi on Tue, Thu, Sat. You don’t have to pick one.

The Gi
Trained in the traditional jiu-jitsu kimono. The collar, sleeves and pants all become grips, which slows the game down and rewards precise technique, grip fighting and patient control.
No-Gi
Trained in a rash guard and shorts. With no fabric to hold, No-Gi grappling is faster and more scramble-heavy, and it’s the closest overlap with submission wrestling and the grappling you see in MMA.
